The role in a nutshell
You’ll be gathering product information from such sources as Quality-Control Briefings, content from the supplier, and legacy content, and turning it into clear, user-friendly content that also meets regulatory requirements and complies with industry standards. Aside from Quality Control, you’ll be work closely with project managers, designers, and buyers.
This is a hands-on role with tight deadlines and multiple projects running at once.
Key responsibilities
Gather input at project kick-off meetings.
Test and use the products you’re creating the copy for.
Validate product specifications and turn them into top-quality packaging copy and manuals that comply with regulatory requirements, brand guidelines, and other specifications that come up at the kick-off.
Coordinate, arrange for, and review translations into multiple languages, liaising with translation agencies and internal reviewers; or see to and check machine translations.
We’re looking for a seasoned professional who:
Has at least 7 years’ experience writing and editing technical content such as user manuals, product specifications, and packaging copy, ideally within the non-food consumer goods
Has excellent command of English; native proficiency is a plus. Proficiency in Dutch is preferred (other languages are a plus)
Is familiar with non-food product categories such as home décor, personal care, health care, household items, and electronic gadgets
Combines an excellent command of grammar, punctuation, and elements of style with oodles of creative flair
Has a keen eye for detail and a knack for spotting inconsistencies within and across deliverables, and across language versions
Has experience in managing and reviewing translations and working with translation agencies
Has a structured, detail-oriented, and hands-on work style
Performs well under pressure and tight deadlines
Ideally, has experience working in international environments.
Has an interest in, and experience with, AI-supported copywriting tools.
