Avion designs and builds full flight simulators that challenge the status quo in pilot training. As a Dutch OEM in a market dominated by large incumbents, we compete on innovation, agility and close customer relationships. Our simulators support airline training operations worldwide, including our flight training centres in Luton and Mumbai.
We are a compact team where your work is visible, your ideas land directly with decision makers, and no two weeks look the same.
Tasks
The role
As Marketing and Sales Support Officer, you own the full marketing function and support the commercial front line. The balance leans clearly towards marketing, roughly 80% marketing and 20% sales, with the sales side focused on first-line contact and business development rather than closing deals. You are part of the sales team and work closely with our training centres and partners across the industry. The sales side is deliberately a support function — you enable the sales team, you do not carry a quota.
This is a broad, hands-on role. One week you are launching a geo-targeted campaign around a trade show, the next you are hosting press at our Luton training centre or researching a new market segment. You get the freedom to shape how Avion presents itself to the world, and the responsibility that comes with it.
What you will do
Marketing and communications
- Own and maintain the Avion websites, including content, SEO and campaign landing pages.
- Plan and run digital marketing: Google Ads, LinkedIn campaigns and HubSpot, including automated workflows, email sequences and lead nurturing flows.
- Grow and manage Avion's LinkedIn presence with content that resonates in the aviation training community.
- Write and distribute press releases and maintain relationships with trade press worldwide.
- Develop brochures, promo materials and campaign assets for global markets.
- Plan and manage Avion's presence at 3 to 5 international exhibitions per year, including WATS, APATS and EATS, from booth design to post-show follow-up.
Sales support and business development
- Handle first-line sales contact via email, phone and events, and qualify and route leads in HubSpot.
- Support customer fly-outs at our Luton training centre.
- Prepare market research and data analysis to support business development, and flag new segments or initiatives worth exploring.
- Support the sales team with proposals, tender documentation and market intelligence.
Stakeholder and industry engagement
- Maintain relationships with customers, partners, aviation authorities, trade associations and industry bodies.
- Represent Avion at industry conferences and within professional networks.
Requirements
Who you are
We are not looking for an expert in everything. We are looking for a sharp generalist: someone who understands how the B2B marketing world works, learns new things quickly, and applies common sense to whatever lands on their desk.
You do not need to be able to shoot a commercial video yourself. But you should know what a good one takes, how long it takes, and what it should cost. When a vendor quotes you triple the fair price, you notice. When a new tool like AI can do in an hour what used to take a day, you are already using it. You judge, delegate and decide with confidence across a wide playing field, rather than going deep on one specialism.
- 5+ years of experience in B2B marketing, ideally with a commercial or sales support component. Strong candidates with less experience and clear growth potential are also welcome to apply.
- Experienced with HubSpot or a comparable CRM and marketing automation platform.
- Comfortable managing websites through a CMS.
- Experienced with Adobe InDesign.
- Fluent in English, written and spoken.
- Willing to travel internationally, sometimes on short notice.
- A self-starter who can plan, prioritise and deliver independently across a broad set of responsibilities.
- Curious about new tools and ways of working, and actively using AI to work smarter.
- Able to brief, assess and manage external specialists such as designers, video makers and agencies, with a good sense of quality, timelines and fair pricing.
Nice to have
- Dutch language skills.
- Experience with Framer.
- Experience with the wider Adobe Creative Cloud suite, such as Photoshop, Illustrator and Premiere Pro.
- Affinity with aviation, aerospace or another technical B2B industry.
- Experience with Google Ads and LinkedIn Campaign Manager.

What we offer

- Office-first working from Nieuw-Vennep, with room to work from home part of the week.
