Your contribution to TenneTAs IT Architect in the Asset Chain department of BTO (Business Technology Organization), you will be responsible for designing, planning, building, implementing and maintaining the IT solutions that are to be used or are used by our customers. Our customers are TenneT departments that are responsible for building, planning and operating the electricity grid.
You will be part of the OTA team. This team is primarily responsible for the customers that operate and maintain the electricity grid. You will work closely with the rest of the BTO delivery teams, the Business Technology Architects, and Enterprise Architect to create modular, scalable, high performing and maintainable solutions that are future-proof.
This is a 100% dedicated role.
Tasks:
- In your role as an IT Architect, BTO Asset chain, you are responsible for the development and realization of the integrated business, information, application, data and infrastructure architecture for your (sub)domain and its associated application landscape.
- You will work closely with the Business Technology Domain Asset Chain's lead Business Technology Architect, your Delivery Lead, external Partners/Suppliers and other teams to help design and/or continuously improve modular, scalable and highly performing IT solutions that meet business needs and fit into the overall enterprise architecture standards.
- You will create an overview of the current situation, the future design for the solution and a clear path to realize this future design. In the process to realize this, you will collaborate with your stakeholders and ensure alignment inside and outside of your team(s).
- You need to communicate the designed architecture principles inside and outside of your team(s). If there are deviations, you will act upon this and make sure that the design is realized.
- In our IT project/portfolio steering boards you will fulfill the role of a trusted advisor to ensure the right design choices are made based on considerations of business needs, current landscape, enterprise architecture principles, timelines and impact.
- Work closely with other BTO domains (platform teams/center of excellences/outsourced service partners) as well as internal functional departments like HR, Business Guidance and Procurement.
- Actively participate and contribute to knowledge sharing within teams.
- Support set up and support (temporary) guilds for the purpose of standardization & knowledge development of subject areas.
- Encourage End-to-End thinking.
- Foster open dialogue and coaching on individual behavior in line with the cultural values of TenneT.
- Encourage an organizational culture of continuous learning.
- Actively support the Leadership Team in exemplifying and driving the company values (Ownership, Courage, Connection) in your team and our department.
- 7+ years of relevant experience as a Technical Lead or senior Engineering/Architect position with the demonstrated ability to bridge business and technical requirements.
- Extensive experience with software development lifecycle (including CI/CD) and experience in working/collaborating in complex cross-functional teams including business stakeholders is important.
- Working knowledge of information security and risk management is necessary.
- Capable of simplifying and decoupling legacy systems.
- Experience with IT/OT, asset management tooling, digital twins, and IoT and related architectures patterns.
- Experience with data and digital solutions, standardization in an environment with multiple stakeholders.
- Business knowledge of asset management/asset chain (e.g., in a similar or related industry as TenneT) is a plus.
- Having hands-on development skills in former jobs is a plus.
- Experience in working collaboratively with outsourced service providers in complex projects for solution delivery is a plus.
- Able to objectify decision making while focusing on long-term enterprise goals and architectural vision.
- You are a performance and outcome-oriented person with a can-do attitude.
- Hands-on mentality, able to dig into details and collaborate across boundaries on a need basis.
- Belief in a non-hierarchical culture, transparency, collaboration and trust in teams.
- Good communication and presentation skills with an ability to explain complex architectural concepts lucidly to key stakeholders.
- Organizationally sensitive.
- Fluency in English is a must; basic Dutch language skills (or an interest to learn) is necessary.
- University degree (min. Bachelors) in a technical field is a must-have; TOGAF certification is a plus.
- As of as soon as possible.
- The weekly working time is 40 hours.
- Type of contract is indefinite.
