Assistant Quantity Surveyor – Residential Refurbishment

Location: Enfield, North London
Salary: £35,000–£45,000 + package
Benefits: 25 days’ holiday, pension and private healthcare
The Opportunity
A well-established, family-run residential refurbishment contractor is looking for an Assistant Quantity Surveyor to join its growing commercial team in Enfield.

This is an excellent opportunity for an ambitious Assistant QS looking to develop their career while gaining hands-on commercial experience across high-quality residential refurbishment, structural renovation and fit-out projects throughout London and the surrounding areas.

You will work closely with experienced commercial professionals and receive the support needed to progress towards Quantity Surveyor level.

The Role
As Assistant Quantity Surveyor, you will support the commercial management of projects from pre-construction through to final account. Your responsibilities will include:

Assisting with cost planning, estimating and project budgets
Preparing subcontractor enquiry packages
Obtaining and analysing subcontractor quotations
Supporting subcontractor procurement and contract administration
Producing valuations and assessing applications for payment
Monitoring project costs, variations and commercial performance
Maintaining accurate financial records and cost reports
Attending project and commercial meetings
Assisting with final accounts
Working closely with project managers, site teams and subcontractors About You
This position would suit an Assistant Quantity Surveyor who has gained some commercial construction experience and is ready to take on greater responsibility.

Ideally, you will have:

Previous experience as an Assistant Quantity Surveyor, Trainee Quantity Surveyor or Junior Quantity Surveyor
Experience within residential refurbishment, fit-out, general contracting or a related construction environment
A degree, HNC or HND in Quantity Surveying, Commercial Management or Construction Management—or be currently working towards one
A basic understanding of subcontractor procurement, valuations, variations and cost reporting
Strong numerical, analytical and organisational skills
Good communication skills and a proactive approach
The ability to commute to Enfield, North London What’s on Offer?
