Introduction for Area Sales Manager
Industrial Connected Talent is supporting a well-established and growing industrial automation business in the search for an Area Sales Manager to cover the North East of England.
This is a field-based sales role focused on developing new business while strengthening existing customer relationships. The successful candidate will manage their own territory and work closely with internal sales, technical teams and senior management to deliver sustainable growth.
Responsibilities for Area Sales Manager
As Area Sales Manager, you will take ownership of sales activity across the North East territory. You will manage existing accounts, identify new opportunities and build relationships with customers across industrial and manufacturing markets.
• Manage and grow relationships with OEMs, system integrators, panel builders, distributors and end users
• Identify and develop new business opportunities across the region
• Expand product penetration and solution sales within existing accounts
• Maintain accurate CRM records, sales forecasts and activity reports
• Work closely with internal sales and technical teams to deliver the commercial strategy
• Attend customer meetings, exhibitions and industry events as required
Requirements for Area Sales Manager
The ideal candidate will have proven external sales experience within industrial automation, electrical products, controls, engineering components or a related technical market. You should be confident managing your own territory, developing new business and building relationships at multiple levels.
• Minimum 3 years’ experience in an external field sales role
• Proven new business development and account management experience
• Experience selling to OEMs, system integrators, panel builders or distributors
• Strong organisation, territory planning and time-management skills
• Good CRM, Microsoft Office and sales reporting skills
• Full UK driving licence and right to work in the UK
• Electrical or engineering experience would be beneficial
Location Requirements for Area Sales Manager
This is a home-based role covering the North East of England. Candidates should ideally live within Newcastle, Sunderland, Durham, Middlesbrough, Darlington, Teesside or surrounding areas and be comfortable travelling regularly across the territory
