The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:
Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.
Certain Advantage are recruiting on behalf of our prestigious client for a Telecoms Site Manager in London.
As the UK Site Manager you’ll act as single point of contact for all UK related tasks within a data centre environment, which will involve a mix of technical hands-on build & installation activities and hands-off administration tasks, for example, equipment ordering (via SAP), engaging with vendors and suppliers.
The position requires a highly independent work ethic and offers a high degree of freedom in organising workload with the opportunity to acquire updated skills based on new developments in the telecoms industry.
The location is remote UK home based, requiring close proximity to London Docklands for escalation management onsite at potentially short notice.
You will be required onsite to support project work, and some of this will involve working out of hours (night/early morning) and weekends to fit in within maintenance windows.
Responsibilities of the role:
The UK Site Manager will work with the planning and rollout teams located in Europe to coordinate and achieve Implementation Projects.
Responsible for working with solution providers and Vendors to request quotes, place orders, coordinate deliveries supervise installation and support finance and accounting for the purpose of securing installation Services, Air-conditioning, AC and DC Power, Space, Telecommunication Equipment and other parts like Cabinets, Cables, and Connectors Panels etc.
Support the Network Management Centre and other NOCs onsite with troubleshooting on Voice, IP, and Transport Equipment.
Act as the escalation point for the NOCs and is responsible for managing maintenance providers and keeping access lists up to date.
Smaller installation, upgrades and changes will be performed by the Site Manager and these tasks are often performed outside of business hours.
Skills, Experience & Qualifications
Training in the field of electrical engineering, telecommunications, IT, or a degree with comparable content and several years of experience
Hands-on field experience with testing as well as troubleshooting at the physical layer and basic knowledge of OTDR and OSA.
Knowledge of International Carrier/Wholesale business and experience with the concept of Carrier Hotels, Data Centre, Telehouse, Interconnections, NNIs, etc.
Hands on skills with installation and cabling of equipment like Routers and WDM Nodes as well as basic configuration skills via CLI and GUI.
Essential to be able to work Night Shift as this is required around customer migrations
