Teaching Assistant (TA2) - Outstanding Secondary School, Chorley

Full-Time | September 2026 Start | Potential Extension to Christmas

Veritas Education are proud to be working in partnership with an Outstanding Secondary School in Chorley, who are seeking to appoint a full-time TA2 Teaching Assistant to join their support team from 2nd September 2026.

Initially offered until October half-term, there is a strong possibility that the role will be extended through to Christmas for the right candidate.

The Role

As a Teaching Assistant, you will:

Provide in-class support across Key Stages 3 and 4
Support students with SEND, including Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC)
Work closely with pupils who require additional behavioural and emotional support
Build positive relationships that promote engagement and progress
Support learning on both a 1:1 and small-group basis
Work collaboratively with teaching staff and the wider SEND team
Help create a safe, inclusive and positive learning environment

The Ideal Candidate

We are looking for someone who:

✅ Has a strong understanding of SEND

✅ Has experience supporting children or young people with Autism

✅ Has experience managing challenging behaviour

✅ Can build excellent rapport with students and staff

✅ Is adaptable, resilient and patient

✅ Has previous experience as a Teaching Assistant, SEN TA, Youth Worker, Support Worker or Sports Coach

✅ Is passionate about supporting young people to achieve their full potential
