We are recruiting for an experienced Bookkeeper / Senior Accountant to join our Watford based client on a permanent, part-time basis. Our client is well established (over 20 years) and have a brilliant company culture and team environment.
We are seeking a candidate who can own the full bookkeeping cycle for Purchase Ledger (purchases, payables, bank reconciliations, month-end) and work alongside the Credit Control/Sales Ledger, ensuring consistency in process.
Duties will include:
Banking & Cash Management
Reconcile multiple bank accounts (GBP, EUR, USD) daily
Process credit card expenses monthly (multiple cards)
Process payments, receipts, and complex retailer remittance slips
Purchase Ledger & Payables
Enter supplier invoices, credit notes and expenses
Reconcile supplier statements
Produce bi‑monthly payment runs
Manage import purchases (USD/Euro) including Customs & Excise Duty/VAT
VAT & Compliance
Prepare and submit VAT returns for 2 UK companies
Prepare and submit Netherlands VAT return, including EC Sales, Intrastat and OSS filings
External accountant does accruals, depreciation schedules, and balance‑sheet reconciliations
Send quarterly info to external accountant for management accounts
Management Reporting
Produce quarterly Management reports and Prepare EoY for external accountant
Produce quarterly Amazon profit margin report after freight/duty costs included
Generate ad‑hoc financial analyses and Excel‑based reports (VLOOKUPs, PivotTables)Candidate requirements:
ACCA/ACA/CIMA - part or fully qualified
Sole‑charge bookkeeping experience
4+ Years experience including multi-currency
5+ Years commercial bookkeeping experience
Experienced using Sage Line 50 (essential) and advanced Microsoft Excel
Strong understanding of multi‑currency transactions and import duties
Excellent attention to detail, organisational skills, and professionalismThis is an office based role, with free parking on-site
25 hours per week, spread across 5 days (Monday-Friday)
The pro-rata salary is 25k
28 days holiday (pro-rata). Christmas shutdown. Holidays: Pro rata holiday based on 25 hour week - 28 days holiday includes the statutory bank holidays.
