How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Support Worker in Watford, WD17. A fantastic opportunity to join a warm, active family supporting Rosie, 9, a bright and engaging young girl who has Cerebral Palsy, with her care, therapy, learning and exciting adventures. £18.00 gross per hour.
    • Nearest Station: Watford
    • Salary/Wage: £18.00 gross per hour
    • Driving Requirements: Yes – clean licence required, able to drive a larger, automatic wheelchair-accessible vehicle (with lift/ramp)
    • Essential: Experience of manual handling/hoisting, Cerebral Palsy, AAC/assistive tech, ability to travel, UK passport, clear DBS. *Female applicants only
    • Desirable: Experience with Conductive Education; interest in health, fitness and wellbeing
    • Start Date: ASAP
    • Days & Hours: Term-time only, a minimum 20 hours per week. Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday: 3.00 pm to 7.00 pm, Thursday 8.00 am to 7.00 pm, and Friday 8. 00 am to 2.00 pm

    About the Client/Child Rosie, 9 years old who we’ve been lucky enough to have worked with before, is a vibrant, sociable and adventurous little girl who enjoys lots of fun and exciting activities; including skiing, horse riding and travelling abroad with her family. She thrives with people who are upbeat, warm and genuinely invested in her wellbeing. Rosie has Cerebral Palsy and uses AAC, assistive technology and a powered wheelchair. Rosie is fully dependent on her postural, balance mobility needs. She eats a nutritional, blended diet orally. She loves her food but due to dysphagia, Rosie requires gentle reminding to eat slowly.
    The Role at a Glance This is a varied, rewarding role working within a friendly, supportive household to help Rosie live her best, fullest and most independent life. There is a structured rehabilitation approach in place for afterschool and home-schooling days, which you will assist in implementing. The position includes assisting with personal care, supporting nutrition and hydration routines, facilitating therapy and home learning, and enabling Rosie to enjoy hobbies, community outings and family travel—both in the UK and internationally. The role is a minimum of 20 hours per week, however additional hours may be available on evenings, weekends and during school holidays. Driving a larger wheelchair‑accessible vehicle is part of the role.
    This Job Would Suit Someone caring, energetic and proactive who enjoys being part of a team and contributing positively to family life. A person who is confident, organised and tech‑savvy, with experience using AAC or assistive technology. This role would suit who a *female support who is genuinely passionate about promoting health, wellbeing and independence, who has a friendly, patient, empathetic nature – a good sense of humour will be a great match for Rosie and her family.
