A welcoming mainstream primary school in Dunstable is seeking a calm, committed and proactive SEN Teaching Assistant with hands-on experience providing 1:1 support. This SEN Teaching Assistant position in Dunstable is an excellent opportunity for an experienced SEN professional who is passionate about inclusive education and confident working with children with additional needs.
For this position, prior SEN experience and experience working 1:1 with pupils is essential, particularly supporting children with a range of additional needs including ASD.
As a SEN Teaching Assistant in Dunstable, you will provide both classroom-based and individual support, helping pupils remain engaged, regulate their emotions and access learning in a safe and supportive environment.
Key Responsibilities
Deliver consistent 1:1 and in-class support for pupils with ASD and additional needs.
Implement tailored strategies to support learning, behaviour and emotional regulation.
Work closely with the class teacher and SENCO to adapt lesson materials and activities.
Build strong, professional relationships that promote trust, stability and engagement.
Monitor and support pupils' academic progress and emotional wellbeing throughout the day.

Proven experience working in an SEN setting.
