Business Development Manager – Industrial Sales

Business Development Manager – Field Sales, Industrial Sector

Thorite, part of the Flowtech plc Group, is seeking an experienced Business Development Manager to drive sales growth across the Bristol and South West region.

This is a field-based sales role focused on new business development, key account management, and territory sales growth within the industrial and manufacturing sectors. The successful candidate will play a key role in expanding market share by promoting hydraulic systems, pneumatics, compressed air solutions, and fluid power products.

Key Responsibilities

* Develop and implement a territory sales plan and key account strategy to achieve revenue and margin targets

* Drive new business development while managing and growing existing industrial customer accounts

* Identify and win opportunities within engineering, manufacturing, and industrial environments

* Build strong relationships with procurement, purchasing, engineering, and maintenance teams

* Prepare and deliver technical sales proposals, quotations, and presentations

* Manage the full sales cycle, from lead generation through to order conversion

* Maintain accurate sales forecasts, pipeline management, and reporting

* Collaborate with internal teams including technical services, engineering, and procurement

* Support larger projects and deliver value-based sales solutions

Requirements

Essential:

* Proven experience in field sales, business development, or technical sales

* Strong track record of selling into industrial customers or manufacturing environments

* Experience managing a sales territory and delivering against revenue targets

* Excellent commercial awareness, negotiation, and closing skills

* Strong communication and stakeholder management skills

* Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word)

Desirable:

* Experience in fluid power, hydraulics, pneumatics, or compressed air systems

* Background in engineering or manufacturing

* Technical or engineering qualification
