The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:
Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

Overview
We're recruiting for a Systems Design Engineer to join a well-established organisation working on safety-critical programmes. This is a permanent opportunity based in Bristol, offering the chance to work on complex, mission-focused engineering in a highly regulated environment.
Because of the nature of the work, regular on-site working is required and there are eligibility and security requirements.
The role
You'll support the systems design and development of complex solutions across the full engineering lifecycle. Typical responsibilities include:
Supporting system design from concept through development, integration and support
Working with architecture and delivery teams to define and manage functional behaviour
Analysing requirements and interfaces, identifying gaps and proposing improvements
Producing clear, structured systems documentation (requirements, design artefacts, interface definitions)
Supporting issue investigation, change impact assessment and technical queries
Contributing to engineering reviews and ensuring robust, traceable design decisions
What we're looking for
Experience in systems engineering / systems design within complex, regulated, or safety-critical environments
Strong requirements mindset: able to turn stakeholder needs into clear, testable requirements
Good understanding of interfaces and integration challenges across multi-disciplinary teams
Degree qualified (or equivalent experience) in an engineering or relevant technical discipline
Clear communication and a methodical approach to problem-solving
Eligibility / security

Typically, applicants will need to be a British Citizen, or a Dual UK national holding British citizenship.
