How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    What will be my core responsibilities?

    This role will support our retail and hospitality clients in the Bristol and surrounding areas.

    * Provide exceptional maintenance services to our high profile Clients and go the extra mile to deliver to the highest quality standards in all areas of your performance.

    * Use your own initiative to solve complicated technical problems associated with reactive maintenance activities, including sourcing parts & materials and seeking manufacturer technical support.

    * Provide detailed write-ups of works carried out to ensure our client is kept up to date at all times.

    * Carry out all works within agreed timescales and to the highest standards, ensuring that you comply with current regulations and contract specifications.

    * Reporting and recording procedures, including operation and maintenance logs and control measures to minimise risks.

    * Utilise PDAs or electronic devices to complete works.

    * Liaise closely with our Helpdesk to ensure efficient response to all works either working on your own or as part of a team.

    * Observe the highest levels of health and safety at all times, including carrying out point of work risk assessments for every task to ensure the best possible working practices are adhered to.

    * Deal with a variety of Clients on a daily basis. You will represent the Company and be courteous and professional in your dealings with them at all times.

    * Provide a call out response across all contracts.

    What can I expect?

    What skills and experience do I need to be successful in this role?

    * A customer-focused attitude with a practical problem solving approach.

    * Excellent communication skills as the first point of contact for our key client and engineers.

    * Well developed organisational skill with the ability to prioritise effectively in a fast paced environment.

    * A collaborative approach to contribute to team success

    Essential:

    * A relevant qualification in your trade to C&G or NVQ L2 or L3

    * Hold a minimum of 3 years’ experience in a building maintenance role, particularly in relation to reactive and remedial maintenance

    * Demonstrate a general wide knowledge of building systems in relation to reactive tasks encompassing, fabric tasks including Carpentry, wet trade tasks and plumbing.

    * Confident user of different systems and tablets for recording completed works data.

    * Current Full UK Driver’s License

    Desirable:

    * Asbestos awareness training (UKATA)

    * CSR/CSCS H&S qualification
