The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:
Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.
Site Engineer - Lower Thames Crossing (Immediate Start)
Carmichael UK is working in partnership with a leading earthworks specialist delivering works on the Lower Thames Crossing project and is looking to appoint an experienced Site Engineer for an immediate start.
This is an excellent opportunity to join a major infrastructure project and play a key role in surveying, setting out and earthworks operations on a nationally significant scheme.
Key Responsibilities
Carry out GPS and site surveys.
Set out boundaries and site controls using appropriate survey equipment.
Process, edit and manage survey data.
Produce and maintain ground models.
Complete volume calculations and earthworks reporting.
Ensure works are delivered accurately and in line with project specifications.
Maintain quality records and as-built information.
Requirements
Previous experience as a Site Engineer on civil engineering, earthworks or major infrastructure projects.
Strong setting out and surveying background.
Proficient with GPS equipment and survey control.
Experience editing survey data and creating terrain models.
Ability to undertake accurate volume calculations.
Knowledge of AutoCAD, Civil 3D, Leica, Trimble or similar software.
Valid CSCS card and relevant engineering qualification.
FULL Manual Driving License
Desirable Experience
Major highways, earthworks or infrastructure projects.
Experience working alongside Tier 1 contractors or joint venture project teams.
Experience on large-scale transport and civil engineering schemes
