About the Role
We are looking for a proactive and personable Business Development Executive to join our client’s growing team in Gloucester.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys building relationships, speaking with customers, and turning opportunities into sales. We are open to candidates from a variety of sectors and are looking for the right attitude, communication skills, and commercial approach.
Working closely with the wider sales team, you will be responsible for following up existing opportunities, developing new business and building strong relationships with customers.
Key Responsibilities
Follow up sales quotes and opportunities using the CRM system.
Maintain regular contact with customers and prospects to progress opportunities.
Build strong, long-term relationships with customers.
Identify and develop new and emerging business opportunities.
Respond to customer enquiries and gather relevant information.
Keep customer and opportunity information accurate and up to date within the CRM.
Identify opportunities to promote additional products and services to existing customers.
Work collaboratively with colleagues across the wider business.
Maintain a high level of day-to-day administrative accuracy and compliance.
Proactively look for ways to improve processes and your own performance.
About You
We are open-minded about your previous industry or sector experience. A technical background is not essential — what matters most is your ability to communicate effectively, build relationships and take ownership of opportunities.
You will ideally have:
Experience working with customers, ideally within a sales or commercial environment.
Excellent verbal communication skills and confidence speaking on the telephone.
Experience using a CRM system, with good IT skills.
Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
A friendly, approachable manner and the ability to build rapport easily.
A self-motivated, proactive and results-driven attitude.
A positive approach and willingness to learn.
The ability to work effectively as part of a wider team.
