Job Title: CAD Technician

Location: Ashford, Kent - The successful candidate will need to live within a daily commutable distance of the office.

Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 08:30-17:00

What Do We Expect From You?

At Boon Edam Limited, we are committed to delivering high quality entrance solutions and outstanding service to our customers. As a CAD Technician, you will play a key role in producing accurate, high-quality technical drawings and supporting the development of BIM deliverables to ensure projects are delivered efficiently and right first time.

Your responsibilities will include:

Produce, amend, and maintain 2D CAD drawings in line with company standards and project requirements
Support the development and coordination of BIM models and associated data
Ensure all drawings accurately reflect customer specifications and site requirements
Review and cross-check factory production drawings to ensure accuracy and completeness
Work closely with Project Managers, Sales, and Installation teams to resolve technical drawing queries
Identify potential design or installation issues early to support efficient and cost-effective delivery
Maintain drawing registers and ensure all documentation is version controlled and traceable
Upload and manage drawings within customer document control portals
Ensure compliance with Building Safety Act requirements and Golden Thread principles
Contribute to the continuous improvement of drawing standards, templates, and processesThis role would suit someone who enjoys producing accurate technical drawings, takes pride in attention to detail, and is confident working collaboratively across teams to ensure designs are delivered to a high standard and right first time.

What skills and experience are required to perform this role?

Proven experience producing accurate, high-quality CAD drawings within a construction or engineering environment
Proven ability to interpret technical specifications and translate them into detailed, compliant drawings
Experience working with or supporting BIM models, with a willingness to develop capability further
Proven experience managing drawings and documentation within structured document control systems
Demonstrable ability to identify and resolve design issues through a methodical approachWhat can you expect from us?
