About the role:
We are looking to recruit Quality Assurance Manager who will take on responsibility for leading a team of quality controllers within our facility. The primary focus of the role will be to ensure that all products achieve the highest standards of food safety and meet a wide range of customer specifications.
This is a hands-on role, where your presence within the factory will ensure we continue to drive a culture of continuous improvement and ensure that the customer is always front and centre in our minds.
You will need to have worked in a similar manufacturing environment and have at least 3 years' experience managing a team.
Sponsorship is not available for this role, including the transfer from one UK Sponsor to another and previous applicants need not apply.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead and manage a team of QA's in their day to day work across all departments
Stand in for the Technical Manager when required
Through visible leadership, ensure that a positive quality culture is encouraged, continuous improvement sustained, and best practices are shared
Contribute ideas for the development, implementation and continuous improvement of all quality systems
In partnership with the wider team, support the development and introduction of all new products, including the effective execution of trials and taste panels
Assist with internal and audits
Monitor and update improvement plans for customer complaints and non-conformances
Provide technical support to the hygiene team and production teamsAbout you:
Essential attributes and skills:
A minimum of 3 years' experience managing a team in a similar environment in the UK.
Degree in food science or equivalent with experience of HACCP, traceability and general food safety or equivalent on the job experience
Experience within a BRC food production / manufacturing site within the UK
Strong communication skills and the assertiveness to challenge others where necessary
Strong work and team ethic, able to motivate and inspire others
Excellent attention to detail and the ability to juggle multiple priorities at any one time
Excellent I.T skills including Word, Excel and PowerPoint
