How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

Job description

Specialty Training Administrator

Salary: £36,217 p.a.

Location: Hybrid Working – Remote / London

Contract Type: Full-Time, Permanent

About the Role

We are seeking a highly organised and customer-focused Administrator to support Anaesthetists throughout their training journey, from entry into specialty training through to the award of a Certificate of Completion of Training (CCT). The role also supports the administration of the College's online training portfolio, helping to ensure that trainees maintain accurate training records throughout their careers.

As a key member of the Training Team, you will provide advice and guidance to trainees, trainers and other stakeholders on a range of specialty training matters. You will work closely with the General Medical Council (GMC), Senior Anaesthetists, College Officers and colleagues across the College to ensure the effective delivery of training processes and support services.

Key tasks and responsibilities include (but are not limited to):

Providing information and guidance on anaesthetic specialty training, including Acute Care Common Stem (ACCS) training pathways, and escalating complex queries where appropriate.
Processing applications and requests relating to time out of training, including calculating training completion dates and communicating outcomes to trainees and trainers.
Delivering first-line support to users of the College's Lifelong Learning Platform (online training portfolio).
Supporting College committees and working groups by preparing agendas and papers, coordinating meetings, taking accurate minutes, managing follow-up actions and handling committee correspondence.
Maintaining accurate records and ensuring administrative processes are delivered efficiently and to a high standard.
Building effective relationships with trainees, College members and key external stakeholders to provide an excellent customer experience.

About You

You will have experience working in a helpdesk and/or customer service environment, alongside proven experience providing administrative and secretarial support to formal committees, including the preparation of agendas and minute-taking.

You will be able to interpret, simplify and communicate complex information clearly and accurately, with the ability to develop and maintain a sound understanding of anaesthetic training regulations and routes to the GMC Register.

Strong stakeholder management skills are essential, with the ability to build and maintain effective working relationships with a wide range of internal and external contacts.

The Package

This is a full-time, permanent position with a competitive employee benefits package, which includes (but is not limited to):

26 days of annual leave, plus bank holiday
One additional paid day of leave for the purpose of celebrating your birthday
Healthcare support through Benenden Health
Up to 12% pension contribution
Hybrid and flexible working
Wellbeing hour once a week
Cycle to work and employee discounts schemes
Training and development opportunities
Access to Mental Health First Aiders and Employee Assistance Programmes

How to Apply

If you believe that you are the right person for this role, please submit your CV and Cover Letter by Tuesday, 15 September 2026.

Please note that the closing date may be brought forward should we receive a high volume of suitable applications.

Due to the volume of applications received, we are unable to provide individual feedback to external candidates. Only shortlisted applicants will be contacted following the closing date.

Applicants must have the right to work in the UK and be resident in the UK at the time of application. No agencies please.
