How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Teaching Assistant – Secondary School

    Location: Tower Hamlets, East London
    Contract: Full-time, Monday to Friday
    Hours: School hours, term-time only

Teaching Consultancy is recruiting a confident and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant to join a secondary school in Tower Hamlets.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone who is passionate about supporting young people and would enjoy working within a busy secondary-school environment. The successful candidate will work with pupils individually and in small groups, helping them remain engaged, develop confidence and make progress in their learning.

The school is particularly interested in applicants who can serve as positive role models and build strong, professional relationships with pupils. Applications from men are particularly welcomed, as they are currently underrepresented in this area of the school’s support workforce. All appointments will be made on merit.

    Key responsibilities:

    *

Supporting pupils in lessons across a range of subjects

    *

    Providing one-to-one and small-group support

    *

Helping pupils remain focused, engaged and motivated

    *

Supporting students with additional learning or pastoral needs

    *

Promoting positive behaviour and reinforcing the school’s expectations

    *

Working closely with teachers, pastoral staff and the SEND team

    *

Helping to create a safe, inclusive and encouraging learning environment

    The ideal candidate will:

    *

Be confident working with secondary-school-aged pupils

    *

Have a calm, patient and professional approach

    *

Be able to build positive relationships while maintaining appropriate boundaries

    *

Be reliable, resilient and able to work as part of a team

    *

Have good written and spoken English

    *

Be committed to safeguarding and supporting the welfare of young people

    *

Have previous experience working with children or young people

Experience in a school, youth work, mentoring, coaching, sports, care or another child-focused setting would be advantageous. Graduates interested in education, psychology, youth work or teaching are also encouraged to apply.

The successful applicant will be subject to the school’s safeguarding and recruitment requirements, including an enhanced DBS check, satisfactory references and relevant right-to-work checks.

To apply, please submit your CV through CV-Library. A member of Teaching Consultancy will contact suitable applicants to discuss the position and arrange the next stage
