THE ROLE
As an Experienced Paint Sprayer / Prepper Technician, you will be responsible for preparing, refinishing, and painting accident-damaged vehicles to manufacturer and industry-leading standards. You will work as part of a skilled bodyshop team to ensure every vehicle leaves the workshop with a flawless factory-quality finish and complete customer satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities:
·Prepare vehicles for paint, including sanding, masking, priming, and panel preparation
·Mix and apply water-based and solvent-based paint systems to manufacturer specifications
·Carry out full and partial resprays, colour matching, blending, and polishing to a high standard
·Inspect completed work to ensure a flawless finish and rectify any imperfections where required
·Work closely with Panel Technicians, MET Technicians, and Workshop Controllers to ensure efficient vehicle throughput
·Maintain paint equipment, spray booths, and work areas in a clean and safe condition
·Follow manufacturer repair methods, bodyshop quality standards, and Health & Safety procedures
·Complete repairs within agreed production times while maintaining exceptional workmanship
ABOUT YOU
We're looking for an experienced and quality-focused Paint Sprayer / Prepper Technician who takes pride in producing outstanding finishes and consistently delivering first-class workmanship.
·Previous experience as a Paint Sprayer, Prepper, or Paint Technician within an automotive accident repair centre or bodyshop
·Ideally IMI and/or ATA qualified (advantageous but not essential)
·Strong knowledge of modern paint systems, colour matching, blending, and refinishing techniques
·Experience preparing vehicles for paint to the highest standards
·Ability to carry out both preparation and paint spraying duties efficiently
·Excellent attention to detail with a commitment to producing high-quality finishes
·Ability to work effectively within a fast-paced production environment
·Strong team player with a positive, professional attitude
·Full UK Driving Licence preferred
