THE ROLE
As an Experienced MET Technician, you will be responsible for the removal, repair and refitting of mechanical, electrical and trim components on accident-damaged vehicles.
Working as part of an experienced bodyshop team, you'll use your technical knowledge to ensure vehicles are stripped and rebuilt correctly, efficiently and safely, while maintaining the highest standards of repair quality.
Key Responsibilities:
·Remove and refit mechanical, electrical and trim components from accident-damaged vehicles
·Carry out accurate strip and refit procedures in line with manufacturer repair methods
·Diagnose and identify mechanical or electrical issues where required
·Remove and refit suspension, steering, braking and associated components
·Carry out checks to ensure vehicles are correctly reassembled and safe for use
·Work closely with Panel Technicians, Paint Technicians, VDA/Estimators and Workshop Controllers
·Identify additional damage or repair requirements and communicate these to the relevant team members
·Maintain high standards of workmanship while following Health & Safety and bodyshop quality procedures
ABOUT YOU
We're looking for an experienced and technically capable MET Technician who takes pride in their work and has a strong understanding of modern vehicle repair and construction.
·Proven experience as an MET Technician within an automotive accident repair bodyshop
·Strong knowledge of mechanical, electrical and trim removal and refitting
·Good understanding of modern vehicle construction and accident repair methods
·Experience working with suspension, steering and braking components
·Ability to diagnose mechanical and electrical faults where required
·Strong attention to detail with a commitment to high-quality workmanship
·Able to work efficiently within a busy production environment
·Reliable, professional and conscientious approach
·Strong team player with good communication skills
·IMI and/or ATA qualifications advantageous
·Full UK Driving Licence preferred
