We need a confident, hands-on bookkeeper who can hit the ground running and keep our day-to-day finances in brilliant shape. You’ll own the detail, keep deadlines moving and make sure the numbers are always clear, accurate and ready to go. What you’ll be doing:
* Keep financial records and ledgers accurate and up to date
* Process sales and purchase invoices and manage accounts payable and receivable
* Reconcile bank statements and credit card accounts
* Prepare and submit VAT returns in line with HMRC requirements
* Support month-end and year-end accounts preparation
* Maintain petty cash records and liaise with external accountants and HMRC when required
* Help ensure compliance with UK accounting and tax regulations
* Prepare management accounts, or maintain the books through to managementaccount stage would be advantageous but not essential as full training will be given
You’ll be a great match if you bring:
* Proven bookkeeping experience, ideally in a similar hands-on role
* Good knowledge of UK bookkeeping and VAT requirements
* Experience with Xero and strong Microsoft Excel skills
* Excellent numerical ability, accuracy and attention to detail
* Strong organisation and time management, with the confidence to work independently
* A trustworthy, discreet and clear approach to communication
Ideally you will have:
* A relevant bookkeeping or accounting qualification
