This is a great opportunity for someone with experience in highway permitting, street works or network coordination who is looking to take on a key role supporting the safe, compliant and efficient delivery of works.
The Role
You will be responsible for coordinating highway permits, notices, network activity and traffic management, working closely with Highway Authorities, Local Authorities, contractors, utilities and internal delivery teams.
Key Responsibilities
* Manage and submit highway permit and noticing applications within required timescales
* Monitor applications and resolve queries, objections and permit conditions
* Process variations, extensions and cancellations
* Ensure works comply with permit conditions, NRSWA requirements and relevant highway legislation
* Coordinate works against the forward network programme
* Identify network clashes, restrictions and potential delays
* Liaise with Highway Authorities, utilities and contractors to resolve conflicts and coordinate traffic management requirements
* Provide operational teams with accurate permit information and condition and Monitor works against approved dates and ensure permits are correctly closed
* Maintain accurate records and provide permit/network performance reporting
* Manage urgent and emergency works notifications where requiredand escalate issues relating to safety, compliance, cost or programme
About You
The successful candidate will have:
* Previous experience in highways, street works, permitting or network coordination
* Good knowledge of highway permitting and noticing processes
* Experience dealing with Highway Authorities or Local Authorities
* Understanding of NRSWA, Permit Schemes and highway network management
* Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail
* Ability to manage multiple deadlines and changing priorities
* Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
* Good IT skills, particularly Microsoft Office and Excel
* A proactive approach to problem solving
Desirable
* NRSWA qualification
* Experience using Street Manager or similar permitting systems
* Traffic Management experience or qualification
* Knowledge of TTROs / TTRNs
* Experience within highways maintenance, civil engineering or infrastructure
