£25,934 (pro rata)We are looking for a proactive and highly organised Facilities Assistant to help keep a busy York workplace safe, welcoming, well-presented and running smoothly. You will be a key point of contact for colleagues, tenants, visitors and contractors, delivering responsive day-to-day facilities support and excellent customer service.
What you'll do
Carry out daily checks to ensure workspaces are clean, safe, secure, stocked and ready for use.
Provide reception and switchboard cover, welcome visitors and coordinate meeting-room bookings.
Manage incoming and outgoing post, couriers, security passes, keys and site inductions.
Identify maintenance issues, liaise with contractors and monitor standards and planned works.
Support health and safety checks, incident reporting, risk assessments and emergency arrangements.
Maintain accurate facilities records, work orders and procedure manuals.
Raise purchase orders, investigate costs and assist with contract and tendering activity.
About you
You will bring experience of customer-facing work, stakeholder communication and working effectively as part of a team. You will be a confident written and verbal communicator, comfortable using Microsoft Word and Excel, and able to organise and prioritise competing requests. A positive, practical and solutions-focused approach is essential, along with attention to detail, personal accountability and a willingness to learn. Relevant safety training is helpful, although training can be provided.
