Hays Education is working in partnership with a welcoming and well-regarded secondary school in Barnet to recruit a confident and motivated Cover Supervisor for a September 2026 start.This is an excellent opportunity for an individual looking to gain valuable classroom experience within a secondary school setting. The role would suit graduates considering a future career in teaching, experienced Cover Supervisors, or individuals with transferable experience working with young people.

Your new role
As a Cover Supervisor, you will be responsible for supervising whole classes during the short-term absence of teaching staff, ensuring students remain engaged in learning and complete the work set by their teacher.You will play a key role in maintaining a positive learning environment and supporting the school's high standards of behaviour and achievement.

What you'll need to succeed

Deliver pre-prepared lesson materials across a range of subjects
Manage classroom behaviour in line with school policies
Ensure students remain on task and engaged in their learning
Provide feedback to teaching staff following lessons
Support the smooth running of the school day
Build positive relationships with students and staff
