How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

There are four opportunities available: three Support Worker positions covering Norwich/Central Norfolk, and one Support Worker position covering East Norfolk/Waveney.

About the role:

As an ARCH Support Worker, you will provide person-centred, strengths-based support to people with complex needs, helping them build confidence, improve their wellbeing and develop the skills needed to live as independently as possible within their communities.

You will work alongside clients to identify their strengths, needs and personal goals, providing practical and emotional support with areas including housing, homelessness, tenancy sustainment, benefits, finances, daily living, routine building, life skills and accessing community services. You will also support people to develop positive social networks, engage with health and community services and access appropriate resources and opportunities.

Working closely with Recovery Coordinators, colleagues, families, carers, health professionals and partner organisations, you will help deliver effective support, advocate for clients and contribute to positive outcomes. You will maintain professional boundaries, complete accurate records and respond appropriately to safeguarding and changes in risk. Working hours for this role will be 37 hours per week.

Main Duties and Responsibilities:

Provide person-centred, strengths-based support to clients in their homes, community settings, temporary accommodation and other appropriate venues
Build positive and trusting relationships with people with complex needs, providing practical support with housing, homelessness, tenancy sustainment, benefits, finances, appointments and daily living
Support clients with areas including harm reduction, substance use, routine building, life skills, coping strategies and developing positive social networks
Work closely with Recovery Coordinators, colleagues and external agencies to identify appropriate resources, support plans and interventions that promote independence and recovery
Maintain accurate records and documentation, while identifying and responding appropriately to safeguarding concerns, changes in risk and other issues in line with organisational policies
Promote dignity, choice, equality and independence, liaising with health professionals, partner agencies and community organisations to help clients access appropriate support and achieve positive outcomes

About you:

As a Support Worker, you will have excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build trusting relationships with people who may have complex needs. You will be compassionate, resilient and committed to empowering people to make informed choices, take ownership of their recovery and achieve greater independence.

You will be organised and able to manage your own workload, maintain accurate records and work confidently both independently and as part of a wider team. Experience of working with people with complex needs or providing support services would be advantageous, as would knowledge of mental health services and experience of lone working within a community setting. A willingness to travel and access to a vehicle for business use are essential.
