Days: 8am – 4:30pm Monday to Thursday, 8am – 2pm Friday £16.62 per hour
Or
Nights: 10pm – 7am Monday to Thursday £23.27 per hour
Rapid Recruit are looking for an experienced Manual Machinist on behalf of our client in Nelson.
Key Responsibilities:
* Operating manual lathes, milling machines and other workshop machinery.
* Producing precision components to engineering drawings.
* Setting and adjusting machines as required.
* Working to tight tolerances and maintaining high quality standards.
* Carrying out first-off and in-process checks.
* Selecting the correct tooling and cutting equipment.
* Deburring and finishing components.
* Following health & safety and quality procedures.
* Keeping the work area clean and tidy.
* Working as part of a small, skilled engineering team.
Requirements:
* Previous experience as a Manual Machinist.
* Experience using manual milling machines and lathes.
* Able to read and understand engineering drawings.
* Confident using measuring equipment.
* Good understanding of precision engineering and tight tolerances.
* Good attention to detail.
* Reliable and able to work well as part of a team.
* Time-served engineering background would be advantageous.
