Fortix AI is building AI-powered CCTV that turns traditional surveillance into smart, proactive systems. We develop computer vision algorithms and an alert-led platform that helps teams detect, prevent and investigate incidents across both public and private sector environments, from critical infrastructure to everyday operations. Our product is already live and deployed with real customers.
The Role
I’m looking for a co-founder and CTO (Co-founder) to take complete ownership of engineering. You will be the technical authority, making every consequential decision across architecture, delivery, and standards. You will define how we build, what we build on, and who we hire to build it. You will be accountable for engineering outcomes, end to end.
The MVP is live and in market. You'd be coming in at the moment where the foundational decisions still matter, iterating on real product with real users, and building the engineering function as the company scales.
The role is equity based to start, at co-founder level, with salary following our pre-seed raise. We're currently in conversations with investors and have strong interest. If you're currently in a role and can only commit fully once salary is in place, we're happy to start part time.
Location
Remote (London-based). Will be in-person by end of year.
Responsibilities
- Own the technical architecture end to end: models, infrastructure, deployment. You decide how this thing gets built.
- Write code every day. This is a building role, not a managing role.
- Make AI and computer vision actually work on real CCTV footage: messy inputs, variable conditions, real performance requirements. No demo-ware.
- Build the core product: alerts, evidence capture, search, investigation tools. The things customers pay for.
- Set engineering standards from day one: how code gets reviewed, how things get shipped, how incidents get handled.
- Make the first engineering hires and establish the culture before it establishes itself.
What We're Looking For
- You've built and shipped production software. You're ready to own every technical decision at a company, not just your corner of one.
- You think clearly about trade-offs: speed vs. Reliability, build vs. Buy, good enough vs. Over-engineered, and you default to high standards on security and data integrity.
- Experience with computer vision, ML in production, video pipelines, or real-time systems is a genuine plus. But strong engineering fundamentals and good judgment matter more than a specific resume line.
- You want to build something from scratch. You're done optimising inside someone else's system.
