Purchasing Assistant / Buyer - Food Manufacturing – Hybrid / Stockport - £30,000 - £35,000
Ever wondered how all the ingredients actually make it into a food factory at the right time, in the right quantities, and at the right price?
This is where that happens.
We're looking for a Purchasing Assistant to support a busy procurement team within a fast-paced food manufacturing environment. It's a role for someone who enjoys organisation and likes working with data.
The role
You'll work closely with the Purchasing Manager, helping to keep suppliers, forecasts, contracts, and product information organised and up to date.
No two days are likely to look exactly the same.
One minute you'll be updating forecasts, the next you'll be helping launch a new ingredient, supporting a tender process, or investigating why a supplier's pricing doesn't quite add up.
You'll be:
- Supporting procurement projects and tender activity
- Managing supplier specifications and approvals
- Maintaining contracts and purchasing data within the MRP system
- Producing stock cover and forecasting reports
- Working closely with Technical, NPD, Planning and Operations teams
What they're looking for
- Strong administration skills
- Good Excel and IT skills
- Previous experience within purchasing, procurement, supply chain, or food manufacturing would be beneficial
