The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:
Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.
Field Sales Specialist - Laboratory & Life Sciences
Location: Wirral / Hybrid with UK Field Travel
Contract: Initial 3-month temporary contract
Hours: Full-time preferred, but part-time may be considered for the right person

Our client is looking for an experienced Field Sales Specialist / Sales Manager with a background in laboratory, diagnostics or life sciences to join an innovative organisation within the scientific sector.
This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys being out in front of customers, building relationships and identifying new commercial opportunities, whilst still having the flexibility of a hybrid working environment.
Responsibilities
You will be responsible for developing new business and growing existing customer relationships across the UK, working with laboratories, research organisations and other life science customers.
The role will suit someone who is confident speaking with technical and commercial stakeholders and who can combine a consultative approach with a genuine drive to win new business.
• Identify and develop new business opportunities across laboratory and life science accounts
• Build strong, long-term relationships with customers, including Laboratory Managers, Procurement teams and other key decision-makers
• Conduct customer meetings, product demonstrations and presentations
• Manage and develop existing accounts while identifying opportunities for further growth
• Generate and manage a healthy sales pipeline
• Keep customer and sales activity up to date within the CRM
• Work closely with internal technical and commercial teams to deliver the best solutions for customers
• Travel to customer sites across the UK, with a focus on building face-to-face relationships
The Person
• Previous B2B sales experience within laboratory, diagnostics, scientific equipment, consumables or life sciences
• A proven ability to develop new business and grow customer accounts
• Strong relationship-building and consultative sales skills
• Confidence presenting products and solutions to technical and commercial audiences
• Experience working with laboratories, research organisations or healthcare/scientific customers
• Excellent communication, negotiation and commercial skills
• A willingness to travel to customer sites across the UK
• A full UK driving licence
• A degree or scientific qualification in Biology, Chemistry, Biochemistry or a related discipline would be advantageous but is not essential where relevant commercial experience is demonstrated.
