How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

Job description

Join Our Growing Team at Sheffield Mobility – Sales Advisor

Job Type: Full-time | £26,000 – £28,000 per year (plus commission)

About Us

Founded in 2018 and proudly based in Hillsborough, Sheffield Mobility is a family-run business at the heart of the local community.

With over 500 five-star reviews, our mission is simple: to support our customers and their independence by providing the right mobility equipment to suit their individual needs.

As we continue to grow in 2027 and beyond, we’re looking for a motivated, empathetic and customer-focused Sales Advisor to join our Hillsborough showroom team.

About the Role

This is more than a traditional retail sales position.

As a Sales Advisor, you will take ownership of the entire customer journey — from the moment a customer first contacts Sheffield Mobility, through consultation and product selection, all the way through to the completion of the sale and delivery.

You’ll need to be someone who genuinely listens to customers, understands their individual circumstances and can confidently recommend the right solution for their needs.

You’ll work closely with Natalie, our Business Manager, and Jamie, our Director, as part of a close-knit team where everyone plays an important role in delivering an exceptional customer experience.

Your responsibilities will include:

* Managing customer enquiries from initial contact through to sale and delivery.

* Building strong relationships with customers and understanding their individual needs.

* Listening carefully and asking the right questions before recommending a product.

* Advising customers on mobility scooters, wheelchairs, walking aids and general living assistance equipment.

* Demonstrating products confidently and professionally in our showroom.

* Providing accurate quotations and product information.

* Following up with customers and keeping them informed throughout the sales process.

* Coordinating with colleagues to ensure orders are completed smoothly.

* Maintaining regular communication with customers before and after their purchase.

* Identifying opportunities to increase sales while always putting the customer’s needs first.

* Maintaining showroom displays, stock levels and overall presentation.

* Working towards individual and company sales targets.

About You

We’re looking for someone who can combine excellent customer service with a genuine desire to achieve sales results.

The ideal candidate will be:

* Empathetic and able to understand the needs and circumstances of our customers.

* An excellent verbal communicator who can build rapport and make customers feel comfortable.

* A great listener who can take the time to understand before offering advice.

* Able to process information quickly and accurately.

* Friendly, approachable and professional.

* Confident speaking to customers both face-to-face and over the phone.

* Motivated by achieving sales targets and earning commission/bonus.

* Organised and capable of managing multiple customers and sales at different stages.

* Proactive with customer follow-ups and comfortable taking ownership of a sale.

* Confident demonstrating products and learning about technical equipment.

* Comfortable working in a flexible, hands-on environment where everyone gets involved.

* Genuinely passionate about helping people and making a positive difference to their independence and everyday lives.

Sales Experience

Previous sales or retail experience is preferred, but we’re more interested in finding the right person with the right attitude.

If you’re naturally good with people, listen well, communicate clearly and are motivated by both helping customers and achieving financial rewards through commission, we’d love to hear from you.

Why Join Us?

£26,000–£28,000 salary + commission

Opportunity to increase your earnings through performance

Employee and store discounts

Full training and support

Opportunity to grow with an expanding family-run business

A varied role where no two customer journeys are the same

The opportunity to make a genuine difference to people’s independence and quality of life

A friendly, supportive and hands-on working environment

About the Role

This is a mainly shopfloor-based sales position located at our Hillsborough store. You’ll work closely with Natalie (Business Manager) and Jamie (Director) to assist walk-in customers, manage showroom inventory, and handle retail enquiries. Your core focus will be guiding customers to the right products, performing product demonstrations in-store, and processing sales efficiently.

Typical Tasks:

Greeting walk-in customers and conducting in-store product consultations

Demonstrating equipment on the shop floor, including mobility scooters, wheelchairs, walking & general living assistance aids

Providing accurate product information, quotes and processing counter transactions

Handling over-the-phone and in-person product enquiries

Maintaining showroom displays, stock levels, and store cleanliness

About You

We’re looking for someone who is:

Highly motivated and results-driven

A clear communicator who is also able to listen to what somebody needs before advising.

Friendly, helpful, and professional

Confident demonstrating technical mobility equipment on the shop floor

Comfortable with a flexible, all-hands-on-deck team environment

Genuinely passionate about helping others and making a real impact in their daily lives.

Schedule & Flexibility

5 days per week (Monday to Saturday), 9am–5pm

Ready to Apply?

If you’re an enthusiastic, people-focused salesperson who wants to build relationships, take ownership of the customer journey and be rewarded for your results, we’d love to hear from you.

Please submit your CV along with answers to the following questions:

1. How many years of customer service or retail experience do you have?

2. How many years of sales experience do you have?

3. What attracted you to this role and to Sheffield Mobility?

4. Do you hold a full UK driving licence?

Sheffield Mobility is an equal opportunities employer. We recruit based on merit, skills, experience and suitability for the role
