How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

Temporary Category Buyer

When registering to this job board you will be redirected to the online application form. Please ensure that this is completed in full in order that your application can be reviewed.

Category Buyer – Chassis | 12-Month Contract
Triumph Motorcycles | Hinckley, Leicestershire | 12-Month Contract

Are you commercially minded, technically curious and ready to play a key role in shaping the motorcycles of tomorrow?
This is a fantastic opportunity to join Triumph Motorcycles as a Category Buyer within our Chassis Purchasing team on a 12-month contract, supporting the sourcing and development of key motorcycle components including seats, braking systems and tyres.

You will become part of a dynamic and ambitious team working at the heart of new model development and supplier strategy. Over this 12-month assignment, you will have the opportunity to learn from experienced procurement professionals, share your own knowledge and experience, and make a visible contribution to world-class motorcycles ridden by customers across the globe.

The Opportunity
As Category Buyer – Chassis, you will manage a defined group of suppliers and commodities, working closely with Engineering, Design, Quality, Product and Supply Chain teams to deliver the best commercial, technical and quality outcomes for Triumph.
You will support sourcing decisions, supplier development, cost management and new model program delivery, ensuring Triumph continues to access the right technologies, the right suppliers and the right value for our motorcycles.
This is an exciting role for someone who enjoys variety, problem solving and working cross-functionally. You will be involved in supplier negotiations, quotation analysis, commodity strategy, program gateways and day-to-day supplier engagement.

What You’ll Be Doing
• Managing suppliers within the Chassis commodity area, with specific focus on seats, braking and tyres.
• Supporting the development and delivery of commodity strategies that achieve best value for Triumph.
• Identifying and evaluating suitable suppliers for new model programs and future technologies.
• Analysing quotations, cost breakdowns and supplier proposals to support robust sourcing decisions.
• Working with Engineering, Design, Quality and Product teams to balance cost, quality, timing and technical requirements.
• Supporting sourcing and development activities through key program gateways.
• Building strong supplier relationships and driving supplier performance, capability and responsiveness.
• Identifying cost reduction and value engineering opportunities through negotiation, benchmarking and market insight.
• Maintaining a strong understanding of the global supply market for assigned commodities.
• Preparing reports, presentations and recommendations to support procurement and business decisions.
• Providing hands-on support for supplier meetings, escalations and visits where required.

What We’re Looking For
We are looking for someone with energy, curiosity and a collaborative mindset. You may already have experience in purchasing, procurement, sourcing, supplier management or engineering, ideally within an automotive, motorcycle, manufacturing or technical environment.
You will bring:
• Strong commercial awareness and negotiation capability.
• The ability to understand and discuss technical requirements with internal and external stakeholders.
• Good analytical skills, with confidence reviewing cost data, quotations and supplier proposals.
• Excellent communication skills and the confidence to influence at different levels.
• A positive, proactive and can-do approach.
• Strong organisation, time management and attention to detail.
• The ability to manage multiple priorities across both urgent activities and longer-term projects.
• Good IT skills, particularly Excel, Word, Outlook and PowerPoint.
• A willingness to travel when required to support suppliers, projects and business needs.

Preferred Experience
• Experience in purchasing, sourcing, program purchasing, supplier management or engineering.
• Experience within automotive, motorcycle, manufacturing or engineering sectors.
• A degree or equivalent experience in Business, Engineering, Procurement or a related discipline.
• An understanding of new product introduction, component development or low-volume manufacturing would be beneficial.

Why Join Triumph?
At Triumph, purchasing is more than buying parts. We are strategic partners in product development, supplier innovation and business performance.
You will join a team that is collaborative, supportive and passionate about motorcycles. We encourage people to ask questions, share experience, challenge thinking and grow their capability. Whether you are building on existing procurement experience or looking to broaden your technical and commercial skills, this role offers the chance to develop in a fast-moving and highly engaging environment.
This is a genuinely exciting 12-month contract opportunity to be part of a team that helps bring new motorcycles to life — from early sourcing decisions through to production launch.

About You
You will enjoy working with people, solving problems and taking ownership. You will be comfortable engaging with suppliers and internal stakeholders, and you will be motivated by the opportunity to contribute to high-quality products, strong supplier relationships and successful new model launches. If you are looking for a 12-month contract role where you can learn, contribute, share experience and be part of a young, dynamic team, we would love to hear from you.

Apply
If you are ready for a 12-month contract opportunity in procurement and want to be part of the Chassis team at Triumph Motorcycles, apply now and help us deliver the next generation of motorcycles
