We’relooking for anAssistant Manager (Asphalt) to join our friendly team at our Halecombe Asphalt Plant in Frome. In this role, you’ll take responsibility for the day-to-day running of the plant, ensuring everything operates safely, efficiently, and in line with company standards. You’ll lead a team, manage budgets, and make sure our customers receive the high-quality products and service they expect.

What you’ll be doing

You’llplay a key role in managing all aspects of plant operations. This includes:

Overseeing safe operation and maintenance of plant and equipment
Driving a strong safety culture through toolbox talks and risk assessments, implementing Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and Safe Systems of Work
Managing stock control, operational reporting, and budget performance
Coaching and developing a high-performing team
Supporting commercial teams to deliver excellent customer service
Leading continuous improvement initiatives and change projectsWhatwe’relooking for

We’reseeking someone who brings:

Proven experience in asphalt operations and plant management
Strong knowledge of health and safety legislation and environmental compliance
SHE NVQ Level 4/QCF Level 6andIOSH/NEBOSH qualifications desirable
Proficiencyin SAP and Microsoft Office
