Facilities Team Leader

Job Responsibilities

Lead and coordinate the day-to-day activities of the facilities team to ensure efficient site operations.
Oversee planned and reactive maintenance activities, ensuring issues are logged, prioritised, and resolved promptly.
Support compliance with health and safety requirements, working practices, and site procedures.
Conduct regular inspections of facilities and site areas, identifying risks and driving corrective actions.
Manage supplier and contractor relationships, ensuring work is completed to required standards and within agreed timelines.
Maintain accurate records for maintenance, inspections, and compliance documentation.
Assist with budgeting and resource planning for facilities-related activities where required.
Ensure facilities services meet agreed service levels, responding effectively to site needs and escalations.
Promote a positive safety culture and ensure team members follow safe systems of work.
Support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance reliability, efficiency, and customer experience.

Required Skills & Qualifications

Proven experience in facilities management, building services, or a similar operational leadership role.
Strong leadership and team coordination skills, with the ability to motivate and guide others.
Sound knowledge of health and safety practices, including risk assessment and safe working procedures.
Experience managing contractors and overseeing maintenance activities to completion.
Excellent organisational skills, with the ability to prioritise workload and manage competing demands.
Strong communication skills, able to liaise effectively with internal stakeholders and external suppliers.
Competent IT skills for maintaining records and using facilities systems (e.g., maintenance logs and reporting tools).
Relevant qualification in facilities management, building services, or a related discipline (or equivalent practical experience).
Relevant certifications in health and safety (for example, IOSH or NEBOSH) are desirable.
Working knowledge of compliance and statutory maintenance requirements for commercial sites.
