The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:
Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

We’re looking for an organised and commercially minded Commercial Assistant to join the team, supporting the financial and commercial management of projects from initial setup through to delivery.

We’re looking for a Commercial Assistant to support the commercial management of projects across our growing Power portfolio.
Reporting to the Commercial Manager / Senior Quantity Surveyor, you’ll work closely with our Project Managers, Site Managers and wider project teams to support cost control, procurement, subcontract administration, valuations and financial reporting.
This is a varied role offering excellent exposure to the commercial lifecycle of engineering projects and the opportunity to build your knowledge and experience alongside an established team.

What You’ll Do
As a Commercial Assistant, you’ll provide day-to-day commercial and administrative support across our Power projects, including:
* Supporting the preparation of cost reports, valuations, forecasts and other financial reporting
* Maintaining accurate commercial records, including contracts, purchase orders, variations and payment applications
* Supporting the preparation and submission of client applications and subcontractor payment assessments
* Recording and tracking variations, compensation events and other project changes
* Working with Project Managers to raise purchase orders for suppliers and subcontractors
* Supporting the Commercial Manager with appropriate terms and conditions for suppliers and subcontractors
* Coordinating documentation to onboard new suppliers onto the Approved Suppliers List
* Maintaining procurement trackers, subcontract registers and other commercial records
* Liaising with suppliers and subcontractors to resolve documentation and payment queries
* Reviewing timesheets ahead of manager approval, identifying errors or anomalies and resolving queries with relevant stakeholders
* Allocating project booking codes to employee and contractor timesheets
* Raising contracts for Limited Company contractors in line with IR35 requirements
* Creating new projects within the Project Information Management System (PIMS) and maintaining associated commercial information
* Supporting month-end reporting, budget updates and project cost allocations
* Assisting with cash-flow forecasting and expenditure tracking
* Ensuring commercial records are accurate, complete and maintained in line with company procedures and audit requirements
* Attending project meetings where required and tracking commercial actions
* Working collaboratively with Project Managers, Site Managers and the wider Commercial team throughout project delivery
What We’re Looking For
Essential
Experience within an administrative, project support or commercial support role
Good understanding of commercial processes within an engineering or construction environment
Strong numerical skills with excellent attention to detail
Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel
Strong organisational and document management skills
Ability to prioritise competing tasks and work effectively to deadlines
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Proactive approach to identifying and resolving issues
Professional and discreet when handling commercially sensitive information
GCSEs or equivalent in Mathematics and English
Desirable
Previous experience supporting Quantity Surveyors or Commercial Managers
Knowledge of construction contracts such as NEC or JCT
Experience using commercial systems such as CEMAR or FastDraft
HNC/HND or Degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, Commercial Management or a related discipline
Experience within the power, utilities, construction or engineering sectors
