The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:
Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.
Carmichael UK are seeking an experienced Quality Engineer to join a major section of the HS2 project in Buckinghamshire. This is an excellent opportunity to play a key role in delivering one of the UK's largest and most high-profile infrastructure projects, ensuring works are completed to the highest quality standards.
The Role
As a Quality Engineer, you will support the delivery team by maintaining quality processes across the project, ensuring compliance with specifications, standards, and client requirements.
Key Responsibilities
Implement and maintain project quality procedures and management systems.
Review and complete Inspection Test Plans (ITPs).
Conduct quality inspections, audits and assurance checks across site activities.
Ensure compliance with HS2, client and project specifications.
Manage non-conformance reports (NCRs) and corrective actions.
Review quality records and ensure project documentation is completed accurately.
Support handover documentation and quality sign-off processes.
Liaise with engineers, supervisors and subcontractors to promote quality best practice.
Drive continuous improvement and lessons learned initiatives across the project.
Requirements
Previous experience as a Quality Engineer within civil engineering or major infrastructure projects.
Strong understanding of quality assurance and quality control processes.
Experience managing ITPs, test records, quality documentation and inspections.
Knowledge of highways, structures, earthworks or utilities packages advantageous.
Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills.
Ability to work collaboratively within a Tier 1 contractor environment.
CSCS Card required
ISO 9001 knowledge desirable.
