The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:
Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.
Are you an experienced forklift driver with strong attention to detail and solid IT skills? We are seeking a Recycling Technician to join our Environment, Health, and Safety (EHS) team for a 12-month contract in Loughborough.
In this role, you will play a crucial part in managing onsite waste centre operations, reconciling customer records, and maintaining a safe, orderly working environment.
As a Recycling Technician, you will split your time between hands-on waste management and electronic record-keeping. Your day-to-day tasks will include:
Waste & Recycling Management: Offloading delivery vehicles; segregating returned bottles, cardboard, and pulp into correct recycling streams; and breaking down and baling cardboard.
Forklift Operations: Safely emptying mini skips into larger skips using a forklift truck.
Vendor & Logistics Coordination: Managing skip collections with preferred waste vendors, loading collection vehicles, and maintaining associated paperwork.
Data & Compliance: Reconciling customer transfer notes, entering details into electronic systems, tracking customer compliance, and reporting any discrepancies to your line manager.
Health & Safety: Identifying and separating hazardous residues in line with strict H&S procedures, and supporting wider waste centre operations (including listing, labelling, and bulking hazardous waste).
Requirements
Mandatory Criteria:
B1 Counterbalance Forklift license is strictly mandatory.
Demonstrable computer skills, including the use of spreadsheets and email systems.
Excellent attention to detail and data accuracy.
Ability to work independently, make decisions, and readily understand English written and verbal instructions.
Passing a standard background check.
Desirable Criteria:
Prior experience handling and transporting hazardous materials.
Previous experience working directly with waste and recycling streams.
