The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:
Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.
Design Manager – Refurbishment & Recladding | St Albans | Up to £75,000 + Package
We're working with a well-established main contractor delivering refurbishment, fire remediation and recladding projects across London and the Home Counties. Due to continued growth, they're looking to appoint an experienced Design Manager to join their team based in St Albans.
You'll take ownership of the design process from pre-construction through to project completion, working closely with operational teams, consultants and clients to ensure design information is delivered accurately and on programme.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background managing refurbishment and recladding projects, with a solid understanding of façade systems, fire safety and building regulations. Experience working with the Building Safety Regulator (BSR) process and Gateway submissions is essential.
Key responsibilities include managing the design programme, coordinating architects and consultants, reviewing technical information, ensuring compliance with current regulations and supporting project delivery through to completion.
To be considered, you'll have previous experience as a Design Manager within the construction industry, proven delivery of refurbishment and recladding schemes, strong knowledge of BSR requirements and excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
