The Role
We are offering an exciting opportunity for an Entry-Level Shift Technician / Trainee Plant Operator to join a power generation facility to be trained as an Operations Technician.
No prior power plant experience is required – full training will be provided. This role is ideal for candidates looking to build a long-term career in engineering, energy, or industrial operations.

Key Responsibilities
* Learn to operate and monitor plant systems using DCS/SCADA
* Support safe and efficient plant operation in line with procedures
* Carry out routine plant inspections, checks, and readings
* Respond to alarms and assist with fault finding and troubleshooting
* Assist with planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and basic repairs
* Work closely with the Shift Team Leader and experienced technicians
* Help supervise contractors and ensure adherence to safety procedures
* Assist with stock control, consumables, and site deliveries
* Participate in planned and unplanned outages
* Maintain high standards of housekeeping and organisation
* Operate site equipment (e.g. forklift – training provided if required)
* Develop skills and knowledge to progress into a fully competent Technician
Skills & Attributes
* Willingness to learn and develop technical skills
* Interest in engineering, power generation, or industrial environments
* Strong attention to detail and problem-solving ability
* Ability to follow procedures and work safely
* Basic mechanical or electrical understanding (desirable, not essential)
* GCSEs (or equivalent) in Maths & English preferred
