How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer

    Local to Corby / Kettering / Wellingborough

    Up to £51,000 DOE

    Monday-Friday | No Nights

    We're looking for an experienced Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer to join a growing food manufacturing business in the Corby / Kettering / Wellingborough area.

    The Role

    Working alongside the Reliability Manager and wider Engineering team, you'll play a key role in keeping production and packaging equipment running reliably and efficiently.

    You'll be responsible for both planned and reactive maintenance, fault-finding and helping drive improvements across the site.

    Your day-to-day will include:

    Carrying out PPM and preventative maintenance
    Responding to breakdowns and reducing production downtime
    Diagnosing and repairing electrical and mechanical faults
    Working on motors, sensors, inverters, conveyors and pneumatics
    Supporting continuous improvement and reliability projects
    Carrying out root cause analysis and implementing corrective actions
    Maintaining accurate records through the CMMS system
    Supporting machinery installation and commissioning
    Working closely with Production, Quality and Operations
    Ensuring engineering work meets health, safety and food manufacturing standards
    What are we looking for?

    You'll ideally have:

    Level 3 engineering qualification - NVQ, City & Guilds, BTEC or equivalent
    Previous multi-skilled maintenance experience
    Strong electrical and mechanical fault-finding ability
    Experience within a manufacturing environment
    Ability to read electrical schematics and engineering drawings
    Good understanding of health & safety
    A proactive approach to problem-solving
    Strong communication and teamwork skills
    Food, FMCG, packaging or process manufacturing experience would be a big advantage.

    PLC fault-finding, 18th Edition, CMMS and continuous improvement experience would also be beneficial.
