Job Title: Access Engineer Field Based (Electrical / Security Gates & Barriers)
Location: North West (Field-Based - UK Travel Required)
Salary / Rate: £NEG DOE + Training + Progression

Overview
We are recruiting for an Access Engineer to join a growing engineering consultancy specialising in security solutions across the rail and manufacturing sectors. This is a field-based role working across the UK, installing and maintaining access control systems, automated gates, and barriers for commercial and industrial clients.

This opportunity offers structured training, career progression, and the chance to work on both pre-built and bespoke security installations.

Key Responsibilities

Installation, maintenance, and repair of security gates.

Electrical and mechanical fault finding on automated systems

Commissioning motors, control panels and safety systems
Supporting complex projects involving large mechanical assets and bespoke systems
Working safely at height (including harness systems where required) - desirable
Travelling to client sites across the UK
Working alongside other engineers on installations where required
Ensuring clear communication with clients on-site
Adhering to safety regulations and industry standards
Completing job reports and documentation

Skills & Experience Required

Strong electrical and mechanical engineering knowledge
Experience working on automated security systems (gates, bollards, barriers, etc.)
Ability to diagnose complex faults across multiple system types
Electrical engineering background with transferable access/security skills
HNC/HND in Electrical Engineering (or equivalent) preferred
Good communication and professionalism when dealing with clients
Ability to work in a field-based role with UK-wide travel
Full UK driving licence (essential)
Relevant certifications (desirable)
