How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Experienced SEN Teaching Assistant for a Post-16 school in Wirral!

    Location: Wirral

    Position Type: Full-time and part-time roles available (Daily cover, short-term, and long-term contracts)

    Pay: Competitive and based on experience (£95-£105 per day)

    Are you an experienced, resilient, and passionate teaching assistant looking for a rewarding role in a post-16 SEN environment?

    We are currently working with a Post-16 site based in Wirral, supporting students with PMLD and other additional needs. They are looking for an Experienced SEN Teaching Assistant who is dedicated to supporting the learning and development of children with SEND.

    We have flexible working patterns for those who have outside commitments, along with options of daily cover, short term and long term contracts. If you are an experienced SEN teaching assistant and you are based in Wirral, we would love to hear from you!

    Key Responsibilities

    As an experienced SEN teaching assistant, you will:

    Support Teaching and Learning - Assist the teacher in delivering engaging lessons that are tailored to pupil's individual needs.
    Behaviour Management - Confidently and calmly manage challenging behaviour using positive reinforcement, de-escalation techniques and a calm approach.
    Student Engagement - Inspire and motivate young adults to participate in classroom activities, vocational learning and life-lesson skills.
    1:1 and Small Group - Provide targeted academic, social and emotional support to students with learning difficulties.
    Collaboration - Work closely with teachers and other support staff to monitor student progress.

    The Ideal Candidate

    Experience - must have proven experience in a SEN setting (a care background is also advantageous).
    Enhanced Background Check - A Child and Adult DBS (or willingness to apply for one through us).
    Behaviour Support - Confidence with managing challenging behaviour.
    Location - Based in the Wirral area or able to commute.
