The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:
Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.
An established heavy engineering manufacturer is seeking an experienced Production Engineer to provide technical support across manufacturing operations. The role will focus on machining processes, production documentation, process optimisation and continuous improvement, using engineering expertise to improve capability, efficiency and yield while supporting the delivery of complex engineered products to demanding standards.
This Production Engineer or Manufacturing Engineer with a strong machining background gained within medium to heavy engineering. You will ideally have experience with 4 and 5-axis machining, CNC lathes, SolidWorks and ERP systems such as SAP. A machining-biased apprenticeship with an HNC/HND in Mechanical or Production Engineering would be highly advantageous.
Key Responsibilities
* Provide technical production engineering support across manufacturing, including 4 and 5-axis machining, CNC turning and associated manufacturing processes.
* Create and maintain manufacturing documentation including process specifications, routings, Bills of Materials (BOMs), production orders and product costings.
* Use SolidWorks and engineering drawings to support manufacturing activities, resolve technical issues and develop effective production solutions.
* Identify and implement continuous improvement opportunities, applying lean manufacturing principles to improve process capability, yield, efficiency, workflow and waste reduction.
* Work closely with Production, Engineering, Purchasing and other internal and external stakeholders, providing technical expertise while ensuring activities comply with Health and Safety requirements.
Requirements:
* Proven experience as a Production Engineer / Manufacturing Engineer
* Apprentice trained or background in CNC Machining
* Knowledge of CAD / Solidworks
* Knowledge of 4 and 5-axis machining processes.
Location: Rochdale
Permanent Full Time, 37.5 hours per week, Mon - Fri
