Key Responsibilities
*
Perform routine servicing, safety inspections, and preventive maintenance on heavy goods vehicles (HGVs) and municipal equipment.
*
Diagnose electrical, mechanical, and hydraulic faults using modern diagnostic equipment.
*
Carry out MOT preparations, presentations, and repair work to ensure standard compliance.
*
Complete all relevant fleet administration and job sheets accurately in a timely manner.
*
Respond to breakdown calls and carry out road side repairs when required.
Requirements
*
NVQ Level 3 or City & Guilds in Heavy Vehicle Repair and Maintenance (or equivalent qualification).
*
Proven experience working on commercial vehicles or municipal fleets.
*
A valid HGV / LGV Class 1 (Category C+E) or Class 2 (Category C) licence is highly desirable.
*
Sound knowledge of hydraulic and electrical systems.
*
Strong focus on health, safety, and operational excellence.
