Scientific Administrator
Location: Potters Bar
Hours: Part-Time | 1–2 days per week
Contract: Temporary to Permanent
Morgan Jones is currently recruiting for a Part-Time Scientific Administrator to join an established scientific organisation based in Potters Bar.
This is an excellent opportunity for an organised and detail-focused individual with a scientific or laboratory background who is looking for a part-time administrative position.
Working within a professional scientific environment, you will provide administrative support across the team, helping to maintain accurate records, documentation and systems while ensuring day-to-day processes run smoothly.
The role would be particularly well suited to someone who has previously worked within a laboratory, pharmaceutical, scientific or technical environment and is looking to utilise their existing knowledge in an administrative capacity.
The Role
* Providing administrative support within a scientific environment
* Maintaining accurate records, databases and documentation
* Inputting and updating information on internal systems
* Preparing and processing reports, documents and correspondence
* Managing emails and responding to general administrative enquiries
* Maintaining electronic and paper-based filing systems
* Supporting with data entry and record keeping
* Ensuring documentation is completed accurately and within required timescales
* Assisting with the preparation of reports and spreadsheets
* Communicating professionally with internal teams and external contacts
* Handling sensitive and confidential information appropriately
* Supporting the wider team with general administrative duties as required
About You
We're looking for someone who is highly organised, reliable and detail-focused, with an understanding of working within a scientific or laboratory environment.
Essential:
* Previous administration or office-based experience
* Scientific, laboratory or technical background
* Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
* Good written and verbal communication skills
* Good IT skills, including Microsoft Office
* Strong organisational and time-management skills
* Ability to work independently and use your own initiative
* Professional and confidential approach
* Reliable and committed attitude
* Ability to work effectively as part of a team
* Availability to work 1–2 days per week
Desirable:
* Previous experience within a laboratory, pharmaceutical, scientific or technical environment
* Scientific qualification or relevant degree
* Experience working with scientific records or documentation
* Previous experience within a regulated environment
* Familiarity with databases and data management systems
