Job Description

Position Overview:
We are looking for an experienced and motivated Electrical Technician to support the repair, servicing, and maintenance of pumps and electrical panels. This role involves both depot-based and on-site work, including the installation and connection of electrical panels and pumps. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in electrical systems and a hands-on approach to problem-solving.

Key Responsibilities

* Electrical Panel Maintenance: Repair, service, maintain, and test electrical control panels used with pumping systems.

* Installation Work: Install and connect electrical panels and pumps within the depot and at customer sites, ensuring compliance with safety and operational standards.

* Troubleshooting: Identify and resolve faults in pumps and electrical panels efficiently, minimising downtime.

* Testing and Calibration: Conduct electrical tests and calibrate systems to ensure they meet performance and current safety electrical requirements.

* Commissioning: Have the ability to commission an electrical system to meet client requirements.

* Documentation: Maintain detailed records of repairs, servicing, and electrical installations, updating logs and documentation as required.

* Customer Interaction: Liaise with clients on-site to ensure installations and repairs meet their needs and expectations.

* Health & Safety Compliance: Adhere to all Health & Safety regulations and company policies to ensure a safe working environment.

Qualifications

* Proven experience as an Electrical Technician, preferably in the pump or industrial sectors.

* Strong knowledge of electrical systems, including wiring, control panels, and fault diagnosis.

* The capability to understand relay logic and analyse the clients’ control systems.

* Hands-on experience with submersible pumps, particularly brands like Flygt, Tsurumi, and Grundfos.

* Ability to read and interpret technical diagrams and schematics.

* Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.

* Proficiency in using electrical testing equipment and tools.

* Strong attention to detail and commitment to high-quality workmanship.

* 18th Edition wiring regulations.

Preferred Qualifications

* Relevant technical or vocational qualifications in electrical installations or a related field.

* Experience working in the pump industry or a similar technical environment.

* Familiarity with Health & Safety standards in industrial or construction settings.

* Knowledge of AMP8 requirements and water industry standards.

* Experience in working with variable speed drives.

* 2391 Inspection and testing or equivalent qualification.
