How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

Identify, assess and effectively manage engineering risks.
Ensure appropriate engineering assurance and governance processes are followed.
Support the development and implementation of safe systems of work.
Monitor engineering quality and ensure works are delivered to the required standards.
Provide technical input into project planning, programming and delivery.
Attend engineering and project meetings, providing authoritative technical advice.
Lead or support the resolution of engineering issues and technical challenges.
Maintain a strong focus on health, safety, quality and environmental performance.
Support project handover, completion and close-out activities.
Ensure engineering decisions are properly documented, communicated and implemented.
About You

We are looking for an experienced rail professional with the technical knowledge, leadership capability and commercial awareness to operate effectively as a CRE within a major infrastructure project.

You are likely to have:

Proven experience working as a CRE / Contractor’s Responsible Engineer within the rail industry.
Strong knowledge of rail infrastructure engineering and project delivery.

Excellent communication and stakeholder-management skills.
The confidence to challenge where required and make sound engineering decisions.
A strong understanding of health, safety, quality and compliance requirements within the rail environment.
Relevant engineering qualifications and/or professional membership.

Why Consider This Role?
