How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

Job description

MEICA Project Manager - Water
Location: Falmer, Brighton
Salary: £70,000-£80,000 per annum
Sector: Water / MEICA / Infrastructure
Employment Type: Permanent
The Opportunity
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced MEICA Project Manager to join a leading civil engineering and infrastructure contractor delivering major projects across the UK water sector.
Based in Falmer, Brighton, you will play a key role in the delivery of Southern Water projects, taking responsibility for complex MEICA schemes from inception through to completion.
The role will involve managing multidisciplinary mechanical, electrical, instrumentation, control and automation works across water and wastewater infrastructure, ensuring projects are delivered safely, on programme, within budget and in line with NEC contractual requirements.
Projects can vary significantly in scope and complexity, including upgrades to MCCs, control and instrumentation systems, chemical dosing systems and water and wastewater process plant, with individual schemes typically ranging from approximately £200k to £10m.
This is an excellent opportunity for an established Project Manager with strong MEICA and water-sector experience who is looking to join a business with a secured pipeline of AMP8 work.

The Role
As MEICA Project Manager, you will take ownership of project delivery, providing technical and operational leadership throughout the full project lifecycle.
Your responsibilities will include:
·Managing MEICA projects from inception through construction, commissioning and handover.
·Leading project delivery teams and coordinating design, construction, commercial and supply chain functions.
·Ensuring projects are delivered safely, to specification, on programme and within budget.
·Managing projects in accordance with NEC contract requirements.
·Proactively identifying and managing project risks and opportunities.
·Managing early warnings, compensation events and change control processes alongside the commercial team.
·Monitoring project budgets, forecasts, programme performance and financial targets.
·Managing subcontractors and key suppliers, including procurement, performance and resource requirements.
·Coordinating MEICA design activities and managing interfaces with civil engineering works.
·Reviewing technical information and ensuring delivery meets required quality and engineering standards.
·Building and maintaining strong relationships with Southern Water, consultants, designers, subcontractors and wider project stakeholders.
·Producing clear and accurate project reporting for senior management and clients.
·Identifying resource requirements and ensuring appropriate project capability is in place.
·Driving continuous improvement and ensuring lessons learned are captured across projects.
·Promoting a strong safety culture and maintaining high standards of health, safety, wellbeing and quality throughout delivery.

About the Projects
You will be based from Falmer, Brighton, supporting the delivery of projects across the Southern Water programme.
The portfolio will include complex MEICA works associated with water and wastewater treatment infrastructure, including:
·Mechanical plant installation and upgrades.
·Electrical distribution and MCC works.
·Control and instrumentation systems.
·Chemical dosing systems.
·Water and wastewater process plant.
·Integration of MEICA works with wider civil engineering packages.
Projects will range from smaller standalone schemes through to larger and more technically complex programmes, requiring strong coordination between design, construction, commercial and client teams.

What We're Looking For
We're looking for an experienced and proactive MEICA Project Manager with a strong background in water or wastewater infrastructure.
You will ideally have:
·Strong experience delivering MEICA projects within the water sector.
·A demonstrable track record of managing projects of varying complexity and value.
·Strong knowledge of mechanical, electrical, instrumentation, control and automation systems.
·Good understanding of NEC contracts and associated project management processes.
·Experience managing programme, cost, risk and change.
·Strong commercial awareness and an understanding of project financial performance.
·Experience managing subcontractors, suppliers and multidisciplinary project teams.
·Strong client and stakeholder management skills.
·The ability to coordinate design, construction and commissioning activities.
·Excellent communication, organisation and leadership skills.
·A methodical, solutions-focused approach to project delivery.
·The ability to manage multiple priorities within a fast-paced project environment.

Essential Qualifications & Experience
·Significant experience working as a Project Manager within MEICA, water, wastewater or associated infrastructure.
·Strong experience managing and delivering multiple projects of varying complexity and value.
·Degree, HNC, HND or equivalent qualification in an engineering or construction-related discipline preferred.
·Experience working within NEC contractual environments.
·SMSTS or SSSTS.
·CSCS Card.
·Strong knowledge of health, safety and quality requirements within construction and infrastructure delivery.
APM membership or an equivalent project management qualification would also be advantageous.

What's On Offer
·£70,000-£80,000 per annum
·Permanent position.
·Long-term opportunity supporting a major Southern Water programme.
·Strong pipeline of AMP8 water infrastructure work.
·Company pension.
·Life assurance.
·Private medical cover.
·25 days annual leave plus bank holidays.
·Company car, car allowance or equivalent vehicle benefit depending on the position.
·Ongoing leadership, management and technical development opportunities.
If you're an experienced MEICA Project Manager looking for a long-term opportunity delivering technically complex Southern Water projects across AMP8, we'd be keen to hear from you
