The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:
Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.
Our client, a forward-thinking employer in North Oxford, is seeking a skilled Automotive Vehicle Technician / LCV Technician / Master Technician to join their dedicated mechanical maintenance team. This is an excellent opportunity to take ownership of a diverse fleet, primarily Mercedes-Benz Sprinters, alongside Mercedes Vitos and Volkswagen Transporters, servicing vehicles across the UK and Europe.
What you'll be doing:
* Servicing, inspecting, and repairing vehicles to high standards, following company and DVSA guidelines
* Diagnosing complex mechanical, electrical, and CAN-bus faults using manufacturer-level diagnostic tools
* Preparing vehicles for MOT testing and conducting road tests to verify repairs
* Investigating recurring issues and implementing long-term solutions
* Maintaining accurate workshop records and managing parts and repairs efficiently
* Supporting less experienced team members and contributing to workshop procedures
* Attending vehicle breakdowns and providing technical support when needed
* Ensuring a safe, clean, and organised workshop environment
What you'll bring:
* Level 3 NVQ (or equivalent) in Vehicle Maintenance and Repair
* Extensive experience working on light commercial vehicles, especially Mercedes-Benz Sprinter or similar
* Strong diagnostic skills across mechanical and electrical systems
* Full UK driving licence
* Ability to work independently, prioritise tasks, and uphold high standards
Highly desirable skills include:
* Master Technician accreditation from Mercedes-Benz, Volkswagen, or similar
* IRTEC qualification
* MOT Tester certification (Class 4 and/or 7)
* Welding and fabrication experience
* Fleet maintenance experience
