This is essentially a Client Manager role, and the firm may consider exceptional candidates who are seeking a role with reduced hours. Initially this role will be office based with hybrid working offered after the probation and settling in period.

As Senior Accountant within this well-established practice, your responsibilities will include:
* Managing a portfolio of 40-50 clients comprising small business and sole traders
* Provide ongoing support and advice to clients and advising as appropriate
* Statutory accounts preparation and review
* Preparing personal and corporation tax returns
* Prepare and submit VAT returns
* Bookkeeping and reconciliations
* Ad hoc duties to support the smooth running of the team
To be considered for this Senior Accountant position, you will satisfy the following:
* Be ACA or ACCA qualified, although, an exceptional part qualified or qualified by experience accountant may be considered
* Have significant accounts and tax experience within a UK accountancy firm
* Experience of independently managing a portfolio of clients
* Able to prioritise and manage workload to meet deadlines
* Have excellent communication skills
* Be flexible in your approach, self-motivated and diligent
* Experience of a range of accountancy packages such as Sage, Xero, IRIS, CCH, TaxCalc, FreeAgent and Excel would be beneficial
* Whilst this role will offer an element of hybrid working after probation, applicants should live within a reasonable commuting distance of Wokingham
